Buyers have moved into house in Virginia. They claim to have termite damage after moving. Damage was not found by any of their inspectors or by buyer or seller. It looks as if buyer is fixing whatever damage. He/she has communicated to their agent that is will cost thousands of dollars to repair. Neither the buyer or their agent has contacted the seller for any money or support. Should seller just forget about until contacted or should seller contact buyer and ask what their intentions are about the cost of repairs ?

Unless buyers can prove seller knew or should have known about the termites, seller is not liable for any costs. Since inspectors didn't find anything prior to sale, it's unlikely buyers can prove seller is liable. However, seller should start saving up for the legal fees. If buyers sue, sellers legal bills will be at least $2000.
