What is the name of your state?NC
If I make a payment arrangement with a CA can they still take me to court, I have two payment arrangements with 2 CA's and one of them sent me a letter stating that the payment that I sent in was not good enough and I had to send more. But they agreed over the phone to what I can send in a month. I am just wondering what should I do?

NEVER negotiate with a collection agency over the PHONE !! It is useless and non-binding and they will ALWAYS 'forget' you ever had an 'arrangment' and they will ALWAYS come back and say 'its not enough - we want more or else'.

Yes, they can still take you to court. This idea that they can't sue you if you're making payments of any kind is a complete MYTH !

If you want a payment plan that will be honored stop talking on the phone and make them an offer IN WRITING - and do not pay them a dime of it unless you get a SIGNED agreement - by someone with the authority to make such an agreement stick.

The lesson here is - If its not in writing, it never happened !

how can I get something in writing I have already asked about that and they will not do it. Should I keep sending the payments or stop them. I have proof that they cashed the check with that payment will that help.

Because asking over the phone is USELESS !! Collection agencies use the phone as their primary weapon against you. They can intimidate, threaten, abuse and be plain stupid to you on the phone. When you put your offer in writing, you take away their main weapon and all the emotional screws they will turn on you verbally.

Who are the creditors ?
When was the last time you paid the ORIGINAL creditors ?

collections

There are two of them Absolute collection services and the other one is SCA. One of them got a payment on the 15th of this month and the other got a payment on the 25th of this month. They both cashed the checks and SCA sent a letter the 27th saying that they credited my account the money but it was not enough. So should I stop all payments?

No, who are the ORIGINAL CREDITORS these slimeballs are collecting for and when did you last pay the ORIGINAL CREDITORS ?

How long its been since you last paid the ORIGINAL creditors goes to how old the debt is in the collection mills.
