i have only been married 6 weeks and 2 days. i am filing for divorce (he was physically abusive), anyway my concern is: prior to the marriage i had purchased property, have 2 cars, an old boat and have a small savings account.

i am trying to get an uncontested divorce, but i got a feeling he is going to try and get some of my assets. i have never changed to my married name and have never added his name to any of my property.

i am real scared that he will be awarded some of my assets.

what are my chances of losing everything i worked so hard for.

please respond (can't sleep!!)

thank you

He will not be able to touch any of that property. You brought it into the marriage and have not used marrital funds, kept his name of the stuff and it has only been 6 weeks. In the event that he tries, make sure you get an attorney.
