CA: Summary Dissolution while not yet separated?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

Is it possible to file for summary dissolution when my wife and I are still living together? She's gonna need some time to for us to separate and I can't just leave her just to file the papers... but our marriage isn't really gonna work out and we meet every other requirement for a summary dissolution. It asks for a date of when we were separated and became confused... while I don't see anywhere where it clearly "specified" that we needed to be separated.

The date of separation will be when you as a couple decided your marriage was over, and began to disentangle your financial affairs and live apart. You may need to establish separate residence within the home if you absolutely can not/will not move out. The following link is a lawyer's explanation of case law regarding the subject:
