What is the name of your state? CA

TO ALL READING-I'M NOT SHOUTING (ALL CAPS) I TYPED IT IN CAPS AFTER ANSWERING THE STATE ? BY MISTAKE-SORRY

AFTER POSTING FOR SALE A VINTAGE COAT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION (WHICH IT IS/WAS WHEN I SHIPPED IT) AND RECEIVING A REPLY FROM INTERESTED PARTY WITH ADDITIONAL INQUIRIES-TO WHICH I REPLIED, PROVIDING THE ANSWERS AND I SHOT AND SENT SEVERAL ADDITIONAL DIGITAL PICTURES OF THE GARMENT-INCLUDING CLOSE-UPS--I RECEIVED THE “OK I WANT IT” EMAIL AND PAYMENT WAS SENT/ACCEPTED VIA PP-

AFTER IT WAS DELIVERED TO BUYER IN S.C., I RECEIVED A VERY HOSTILE EMAIL DEMANDING REFUND AND ACCUSING ME OF MISREPRESENTING AND ACTUALLY WROTE THINGS THAT I SUPPOSEDLY SAID AND PUT THESE WORDS IN QUOTATION MARKS (STATEMENTS I HAD NEVER MADE NOR WOULD HAVE). ASIDE FROM THOSE FALSE ACCUSATIONS I WAS TOLD THE LINING WAS TORN-NOT TRUE WHEN IT WAS SHIPPED-I KNOW THERE WERE A FEW STITCHES LOOSE WHERE THE LINING ATTACHED AT THE SLEEVE-I MADE IT CLEAR IT WAS AN OLD COAT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND DID NOT NOTICE THE LOOSENED STITCHES UNTIL THE MORNING I WAS SHIPPING AS I PACKED IT-I TURNED IT INSIDE OUT TO FOLD AND PUT IN SPACEBAG TO PROTECT FROM ANY MOISTURE OR OTHER DAMAGE DURING SHIPPING-THE LINING OF THE COAT IS /WAS IN PERFECT COSMETIC CONDITION EVERYWHERE ELSE AND THE COAT ITSELF WAS IN NO WAY AFFECTED.

JUST TO MENTION AS WELL: I HAD ALSO INCLUDED A FREE LITTLE GOLD BROOCH AS A GESTURE SINCE I WAS NOT ABLE TO SEND IT A FEW DAYS EARLIER (CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY-CA STORMS)-I EMAILED TO ASK IF IT COULD WAIT UNTIL THE DAY I DID IN FACT SEND IT AS WELL AS I EMAILED A SCAN OF ALL USPS RECEIPTS BEFORE 2PM EST SO IT WOULD BE IN THE INBOX AT THE BUYER’S WORKPLACE WHICH IS THE ONLY EMAIL ACCOUNT THE BUYER HAD-NO HOME EMAIL OR PHONE WAS EVER PROVIDED EVEN AFTER I ASKED TO BE ABLE TO MORE CONVENIENTLY CORRESPOND. ANOTHER MENTION WAS IT SMELLED OF STALE SMOKE. SO RATHER THAN REACT TO THE EMAIL EVEN THOUGH IT WAS OFF THE CHARTS RUDE, ILL CONCEIVED IN THAT THE ACCUSATIONS AND MISUSE OF QUOTES WERE RIDICULOUS, I DECIDED TO OFFER TO SEND MONEY TO HAVE THE COAT DRYCLEANED AND THE LOOSENED STITCHES REPAIRED. I ALSO SENT WEBPAGE LINKS TO 3 SITES WHICH HAD VERY SIMILAR GARMENTS AND WERE PRICED AT LEAST 3 TIMES MORE THAN I SOLD THIS ONE FOR, AND 2 WERE NOT NEARLY AS GOOD IN QUALITY OR DESIGN. I INCLUDED THIS TO SHOW I WAS NOT IN ANY WAY TRYING TO RIP ANYONE OFF OR WOULD I EVER DO THAT. I ALSO FEEL THAT MY OFFERING TO SEND MONEY TO HAVE THIS COAT DRYCLEANED AND THE LOOSENED STITCHES RESTITCHED WAS GRACIOUS ON MY PART. I ALSO OFFERED TO REPOST THE COAT TO SEE IF IT COULD BE SOLD TO ANOTHER INTERESTED PARTY IF MY MONETARY OFFER WAS NOT OF INTEREST - I SAID IF IT SOLD-I COULD HAVE THE PAYMENT MADE TO HER PP ACCOUNT AND SHE COULD SHIP IT TO THE BUYER OR TO ME-

THE NEXT REPLY WAS EVEN MORE BASE AND HARSH, ACCUSING ME OF NOT SENDING THE BROOCH (WHICH IS ON THE COAT WHERE BROOCHES ARE WORN-HARD TO MISS IF YOU CASUALLY GLANCE AT THE COAT)-
-THE BUYER REFERRING TO SELF AS “THE FIRST SUCKER TO GET THE COAT” WAS DEMANDING A FULL REFUND IMMEDIATELY NOT EVEN USING THE COMMON SENSE WE ARE ALL BORN WITH --TO CHILL THE RHETORIC, NICEN UP THE ATTITUDE ENOUGH AT LEAST TO GARNER A RESPONSE CLOSE TO WHAT ONE WANTS. NOT THIS ONE-JUST LOTS OF BLATHERING ABOUT FRAUD AND AGAIN MISUSING QUOTES ETC...AND CARRYING ON ABOUT NONSENSE THAT IS NOT EITHER TRUE OR PERTAINS TO THIS AT ALL.
SO I KNOW TO EXPECT IMMATURITY AT BEST FROM THIS POINT FORWARD.

DO I HAVE TO GIVE A REFUND? IS THERE ANY WAY THIS PERSON CAN CAUSE ME PROBLEMS? I HAVE ALL EMAILS, RECEIPTS, MY POSTING OF THE COAT FROM THE WEBSITE TO SELL IT-I CAN PROVE THE ACCUSATIONS ARE BASELESS-THE QUOTES ARE ACTUALLY THE BUYER LYING ABOUT ME AND MY REPUTATION CAN BE CALLED INTO QUESTION IF THIS PERSON IS AS NUTS AS THEY ARE APPEARING TO BE SO FAR. I DO NOT BELIEVE I SHOULD REFUND ANYTHING AS THE TRANSACTION IS FOR USED MERCHANDISE AND I DID NOT MISREPRESENT ANYTHING. I CANNOT ATTEST TO THE CONDITION OF ANYTHING NOW THAT I DON’T OWN OR HAVE IT IN MY POSSESSION. I DO HAVE WITNESSES THAT CAN ATTEST TO THE CONDITION OF THE GARMENT BEFORE I SOLD IT AND MY CHARACTER HAS NEVER BEEN QUESTIONED FOR ANYTHING IN MY LIFE. I AM NOT A SELLER ON THE INTERNET AS A WAY TO MAKE A LIVING EITHER. I POST A FEW THINGS EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE THAT I DON’T NEED AND I BUY THINGS ONLINE THAT I DO NEED - I HAVE NEVER HAD ANYONE DEMAND A REFUND FOR ANYTHING BEFORE AND I AM FRANKLY SHOCKED AT THIS PERSON ACTING LIKE THIS AT ALL.

ANYONE HAVE ADVICE? CAN I JUST SEND A FINAL EMAIL AND SAY I TRIED TO ASSIST BY OFFERING THE AFOREMENTIONED AND SINCE ALL OF MY OFFERS WERE REFUSED-ENOUGH-IF THEY DON’T WANT THE COAT-SELL IT-IT ISN’T MINE ANYMORE?What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?

If they used a credit card with PayPal, they can try to do a chargeback.

Have they sent photos of the coat to you after it arrived when they had problems with the condition?

I'd personally offer the other party a refund if they ship the coat back to me with trackable shipping (via UPS, FedEx, etc.) and upon acceptance.

I accepted a PayPay to PP payment-no charge or credit card was used. However, I know about people who purposely buy things with their credit card-make an online PP payment with it - which incurs a charge of 4.9% of the total of the sale (seller pays) then after receiving the item-start an action with their card company for the sole purpose of getting the money they paid for the item put back on their card-then they don't return the goods or they come up with excuses and drag it on until finally the seller just gives up-I have read this is very prevalent especially this past year or so. I am surprised the card companies don't investigate the frequency of this with the card members-it's fraud and people losing their money because of credit card companies just automatically replace the amount paid to buy an item without following up that the item is returned or the seller is not left losing everything.

Is there anything this person can do to cause me problems legally? I received an email today informing me that "Jesus doesn't like this" - that's the whole email-whatever that is supposed to mean-I have already mentioned that I have never had problems before, but I think from now on-I will not ship anything-you know most people don't have to do that-ship things-I was just respecting the "first come-first served" or first reply to posting-first prospective buyer-first chance to buy it - I think it is only right-but from now on-I am going to give preference to locals first. Thanks for any follow up regarding my question about legal aspects of this refund demand.

No pictures were sent to me after the item was received by the buyer.
