I have a cable contract for basis cable with a large company. They installed four lines. I have two underage 13 and 15 year old sons. I found out that they can get numerous channels in that are X rated. I called the company and they said it happens all the time....they offered to put an adult block on it next week...but they are aware that this happens and they never checked it when installing...if this is a common problem, and why didn;t they install the adult blocker if it is so common, The damage of innocence is done...playboy or victoria secret is what I was always worried about...now they were subjuected to this filth...can I sue the company?

How old is your TV? Every TV sold in the past 8 years or so has the capability of parental control, you can block children from watching any channel you don't want them to watch.

Of course you can sue them.... after all anyone can sue almost anyone over almost anything.

However, you have no claim against them.... as they did nothing wrong.

Oh please....Be more concerned about the violence they see when playing a video game...Victorias Secret...dear God!

Hmm why dont you be a responsible parent, teach your children right from wrong, and be involved in their lives. Porn or not your kids would probably turn our alright.

But no its easier to blame, TV. Why not blame yourself, presumably you are an adult, you know what is available on TV, and yet you still voluntarily allowed it into your home. Its always easier to blame others.

Don't listen to these awful people. You most certainly can sue the cable company! (Right after I sue whatever schools you may have attended).

Good luck!

YOU should have looked into blocking any of these channels yourself.

What, when your kids go to a friends house and watch it, are you going to sue their parents?? Come on

People are WAY TOO freaking sue-happy these days.

Get over it, and I agree with the posting that talked about violence in video games, etc.

I'd hardly worry about what they see from a Victoria's Secret modeling show.
And if you're that worried anyway, why do you subscribe to all those channels?
You set this up to happen by not taking control to begin with. The cable company has NO wrong-doing here.

Ummmmmmmmmmm, and how did you not know those channels were in your package? The cable kings don't give that stuff away for free.
