Im asking if California Labor code applies to School District employees generally, or is it just Ed. Code and Labor code applies only when Ed. Code is silent, or is it only specific provisions of Labor code that have been deemed by the courts to not apply to school employees?

For example, do work hours and OT provisions per Labor code apply to school districts when Ed. code addresses the same issues, but says any hrs worked in excess of 8 hrs are payable at 1 1/2 times the hourly rate. However, labor code provides for "double" time for over 12 hours and Ed. Code remains silent on that.

Also, some provisons of Labor code specifically exempt public employers from them.. (Labor Code 220)

I was wondering if Labor code ever applies to school employees or only when ed code remains silent on an issue that Labor code addresses.
