if i have a property that i've rented out and my tenants are using my home for illegal activity but i'm not aware of the activity, and they get busted on my property because of the activity, can i loose my property as a result? i live in a different state from the property and can't possibly check on the place very easily. this is just a hyperthetical question.

Thats why you hire a property manager, in town and make them check up on the unit, every week or so, and collect the rent authorize any repairs

As long as you dont take CASH for rent, and have a lease with the tenants, and you have screened them, done a credit check, then how can they really do anything if you live far away...

If you are really worried about this then SELL the house
