Bought a car for my daughter. My credit was good enough that they said they didn't need to verify anything else. Put money down, signed the contract, drove out with the car. They now say we must return the car and that they cannot secure the financing due to the fact that I am currently on short term disability. They also say there is something in the contract giving them this authority, but I can find nothing that gives them that power. Can they legally void the contract?

Read it again. Only this time read it more carefully.

All you need to find is something that says you are APPLYING for financing.

If it says that and the financing fell through (verify that with the finance company) then you need to figure out how to pay for the car, either with cash or by obtaining your own financing for the balance, or you lose the car.
