What is the name of your state? Ohio

Citibank has a judgment against me for just shy of $8K.

My husband has a judgment against a former employer for around $23K.

Can judgments be sold or transferred? We'd like to offer Citibank the rights to our $23K judgment as payment of our $8K.

Is it worth a shot or is something like this impossible?

"Can judgments be sold or transferred?"
*** Yep. I purchase unpaid civil judgments all the time.

"We'd like to offer Citibank the rights to our $23K judgment as payment of our $8K. Is it worth a shot or is something like this impossible?"
*** It is possible, but unlikely that they would be interested in taking on an unknown judgment debtor.

Next question

I guess my next question would be...

How does my husband go about trying to sell the judgment and approximately what percentage of the value might we be able to get for it?

I'm hoping we can get enough out of it to settle the judgment against me and to make a deal on another balance we are making payments on.

Thanks for your help!

"How does my husband go about trying to sell the judgment"
*** He can contact one of the Judgment Enforcers at:
http://www.nationaljudgment.net/cgi-bin/mbrserch.cgi

"and approximately what percentage of the value might we be able to get for it?"
*** That would require an evaluation of the judgment itself and some preliminary investigation into the possible assets of the judgment debtor.

"I'm hoping we can get enough out of it to settle the judgment against me and to make a deal on another balance we are making payments on."
*** Based on the facts of your post, that wouldn't appear to be too unreasonable an assumption.

Thanks so much!

I just submitted an application with one of the "enforcers" here in Cincinnati and will anxiously wait what he has to say.
