What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New york
I am a legal guardian to my then 15 yr. Old brother he was arrested and given an appearance ticket to show up to court. Being he was a minor they said i had to go to court with him. Well on the court date he didnt come home and we did not go to court. Then when we did go to turn hisself in to see the judge they arrested me aswell. I was 9 months pregnant and they arrested me the same as they would arrest anyone else. They did not offer me a drink or food at all and i was in the cell for nearly 4 hrs. Is this legal? And also due to this stress that i endored in that process i had to have an emergency c-section 3 days later.
You should have shown up because YOU were responsible for him. You didn't. You disobeyed the order to be there. You being pregnant matters not. You aren't special. Yes it is legal. If you didn't want to be arrested YOU should have gone to court even if he didn't.
