I received an expungement in N.J. two years ago for several charges that were filed against me and dismissed. I was never convicted. I have recently had charges filed against me that were also dismissed. Can I get a second expungement in N.J.? The statute says that one cannot get a second expungement for a conviction - it says nothing about a second expungement for dismissed charges. I can do the expungement papers myself instead of paying a lawyer $500-$1000 so I hesitate to see a lawyer. Does anyone have any insight on this from experience or otherwise? Thanks.
