What is the name of your state? Texas

I am currently (as of tomorrow) 2 payments behind on my car loan. I've been told that unless I get the account current, they will repossess the vehicle. They have every right to do that, as far as my understanding of the laws goes. However, they have also told me that if I don't make the car available to them to repossess, they will report the car as stolen. Is it legal for them to do that in Texas? Thanks.

Of course it is legal... From the minute you drove the car off the lot it has NEVER been yours... You are only "borrowing" the car until ALL the payments have been made... It is NOT the financing/bank's fault that you cannot make payments...

That is why vehicle registrations list two types of owners, the legal owner and the registered owner. The legal owner has the right to take the vehicle from the registered owner when the contractual obligations are not met.
