I am the seller in a standard Realtor Contract of Sale with a FHA Financing Supplemental Agreement in the state of Oklahoma. The contract has a section concerning emp (electrical, mechanical, and plumbing) requirements. It states that if repairs are required the seller shall pay $1000.00 toward the repairs. In the FHA Supplemental Agreement it states that if repairs are required the seller will pay up to $1000.00 for these repairs. The EMP inspection required a new heat and air system. The FHA inspection required a new heat and air system. How much am I, the seller, required to pay? The closing company says $2000. I say $1000 and paying twice for the same repair is "double dipping" and that I should be able to cure the requirement with either the emp or the FHA requirement thereby eliminating the other requirement. Please give me your opinion. Thank you.

Your interpretation of the 2 contracts sounds correct to me, but call a real estate lawyer in your state to double check.
