What is the name of your state? PA
I am a part-time horse show trainer and make part of my living from this position. Outside of my other professional job, I do have formal training in the equine industry. I am a certfied horse show judge through Penn State University and I have trained for years.
At a recent show, another barn owner made an accusation about me drugging one of my show horses. She was yelling this information and several different people heard it. In this industry if someone was caught with drugging, that person can be banned from shows. As a result clients would not want to train with you because the trainer is needed at the show to warm up the horses and give advice to the clients.
The person who made the accusation has a reputation of making various false statements. In fact, I am aware of another trainer who asked an attorney to write a letter in regard to slander. After that letter, the accuser left her alone. This accuser tries to make every show difficult for many people. Last year they were excused from a show circuit because they lied about a rider's age and this rider was showing in a class younger than what she was. They since have been disbanned from that circuit.
I would like to have her leave me alone as well as my clients. In general, I ignore them at the shows yet they always seem to find people they don't like just to cause controversy.
Would this previous action be enough to have a certified letter sent to their residence from an attorney?
Thank you,
Desperately seeking peace.
