Can an attorney agree to change an aspect of an order?

If the order states parents are to meet in location X and both parties have been instructed to follow the order due to a current custody dispute, can the defendant's attorney agree to allow the plaintiff to alter the mode of transportation without consulting his client? I thought that only a judge had the authority to change an order.

An order is an order. If BOTH parties agree to modify something, it doesn't need to go to court, but both have to agree, otherwise someone is in contempt.

However, if both attorneys agree, then that often counts as both parties agreeing.

If the defendent is unhappy with agreements his/her attorney is making, then he/she needs another attorney.
