I was sharing an apartment with my fiance in New Jersey and I fronted the money for the security deposit. A few months later we broke up and I moved out of the apartment and back to Pennsylvania. Now she's moving and refuses to give me the money back, what can I do? Please is there anyone that can help me??What is the name of your state?

Next time split the bills , get it in writing of any money loaned .

Did you pay her your half of the rent for the duration of the lease?

And as Judge Judy would say: "If you paid rent, show me a receipt or cancelled check for rent and any other bills." Can you prove it?

Yeah. Also, if you "fronted the sd," and you were on the lease, you would have had to receive at least half of the return (assuming there were only two tenants). Right?
