What is the name of your state? TX

My husband & I got into a lease w/one of our vehicles about a year and a half ago. We have had numerous problems with the car since then. In the past year and a half, the a/c compressor went out two or three times, the sealant on the car came off, the CD player on the car had to be replaced twice, the taillight was out the first week, the cigarette lighter didn't work, one of the fog lights went out, and the car has completely locked up & shut off, twice when my husband was driving it (w/our 2 yr. old) & once when I was driving it. We were lucky that we were not in the middle of a bunch of moving traffic. We took it to the dealership we got the car from just recently, had them check it out, they couldn't find the problem, and had only two options for us. 1) Trade the vehicle in, they offered to "eat" some of the cost but we'd still be at least 8,000.00 upside down, get into another vehicle, but our credit would have to be run & right now it's not that great since my husband was laid off for the past two months, put down about 6,000.00 on the new car or 2) basically keep the car and "hope" nothing happens. Since we cannot afford to do the first option, we have not choice but to hope nothing happens. My husband now drives w/his hand near the emergency break just in case it happens again, & he won't drive on freeways! This isn't right! Is there ANYTHING that can be done?

a thought.....

threaten to sue them unless they give you a new(or different) car. If that doesn't work, see an attorney that is familiar with TX lemon laws. TX may protect dealers, they may not.

good luck!

I agree with Drew. Make sure taht you have copies of all the repair orders from each of the times you took the car in, and contact either a lawyer who specializes in lemon law, or the Texas Attorney General's department of consumer protection at http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/consumer.shtml
