What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?Ohio
I am a single mother of three, and only occasionally receive child support. (Once every few months if I am lucky, and it is state min.) I work fulltime, with 10-20 hours over if it is offered. I have been able to provide the necessities, however, struggle to keep the bills paid on time. I know, this is common, but recently my landlord has given me an opportunity to help us out. He is willing to put our apartment on Metropolitan through the state which should help me keep the rent up to date without having to let other bills go behind. It will base our rent on income, and I may not have to work so much overtime, hence, spending more time with them. Could something like this be held against me in a future hearing, the fact that I may need assistance for our living expenses? I am not on any other assistance, and have tried to avoid it due to the fear of it coming back and making me look like I can't care for my children.

It can also help you with getting the NCP to pay support. The state MAY pick it up, and the CSE agencys really go after the NCP's whose kids are recieving assistance.

Don't worry about it adversley affecting you in any form- go for it.

It won't affect you negatively~ If dad tried to use it against you, he'd look like an idiot since he isn't paying support.

Is an order for child support even established??

Ohio
Yes, the order of support has been in effect for over two years now. He has made about ten payments, ever. He waits until they threaten him with contempt papers, and makes a couple of them. I have asked and asked when they will do something, but he's already lost his license for DUI, and likes to work under the table so I can't establish proof of his income. I even took photographs of him in a uniform shirt on a job site and they said it does no good. Recently though, his brother who was paying him cash passed away, so he will have to find someone else to jip his son with. He is supposedly on this list through the county for contempt, but they have told me that for over a year now. I look forward to the day we do face that judge, now that I know everything else is in order. I actually like the peace we have in our home when there isn't legal problems. It gets a bit disruptive when he gets bored with the bars.
