I live with my boyfriend and have for over 2 yrs. Just my boyfriend and my daughter and me. (my daughter is 18.) We haven't been getting along. We have decided that I'll move out. I just got a job in Dec. and as soon as I get enough saved I'll be out. (I have not cashed 1 paycheck yet.) Everything I earn is saved for a place. My problem is, I guess it's not soon enough for my boyfriends father, who owns the home, where my boyfriend pays all the rent. When I moved in it was under the ageement with my boyfriend that I would just pay for all the groceries and things for the home. (which I have done.) But his father calls me as a Squatter. And the other day told me that if I'm not out by Sunday me and my stuff will be put out in the front yard and he'll call the police if necessary because he says, he's already talked to them. My boyfriend is leaving for Mexico tomorrow and his father told him, he'll have me out and the locks changed by the time he gets back. My boyfriend has no rental agreement on paper with his father or me. and my boyfriend tells me, it's all his dads doing and he won't tell his father anything , like I buy all the groceries or that I'm saving to get out. He tells his dad ,whatever it is his dad wants to hear to keep on his daddy's good side. BUT....... Can he throw me out? Can he change the locks? Doesn't he have to give me a 30 day written notice? and if he does try who do I contact to help me? and will they know the law? I live in Sacramento county in California.
Please give me some direction. Thankyou,

Yes he has to legally evict you in court if he changes the locks, call the police and have him arrested!

BIG problem......you not cashing your checks some of them you may NEVER be able to cash.....most are only good for 30 60 90 or 180 days after they are issued, sometimes it says so on the check! You will have to get another check from your employer to cover the checks that are no good

Oh by the way tell your boyfriends father we are NOT in some communist country, and as an AMERICAN you have a right to defend yourself, in a court of law and have a 3rd party (a Judge) decide wether you should be evicted

That should really piss him off!
