ok, my husband and I just received a ruling that almost put us in divorce courts ourselves. my husband has three children from a previous marriage and i have 2. i do not receive child support and don't want to, my choice. husband has always paid child support on his three. one is now 21 years old going to college 2nd one is 19 going to college and the third is a minor. this is in the state of illinois. i have a child 21 married and now with a child and a minor at home. my husbands two oldest children go to college. judge didn't order anything on the oldest 21, but ordered us to pay the second child $350.00 per month for college and maintenance. child has a full ride on grants includes, books, tuition, and room and board. why am i now paying children support. can they make us do this? we are currently under a reconsideration. my child here is in private school and could effect his education. plus they raised our support to the max of 20% to pay. so torn in many directions. court included by income but was not present at hearing. can i be heard before the judge?
