What is the name of your state? Florida

I want to create artwork to be printed on t-shirts and sold on the internet. I would like to use clip art and photographs and rework them. Are there public domain sites that are safe from copyright infringement to get such things?

How do I know if a site that claims photos and clip art are public domain are really such?

I was recently on a website which allows you to create artwork and submit it to be printed on t-shirts and sold for you. I saw t-shirts someone submitted with photos and clipart images that are the same as the ones in a clipart book and software program I have. Is the maker of these t-shirts commiting copyright infringement?:confused

If your clipart software or book provides you with the explicit permission to use it, then it is OK. If not, you'll need to get that permission. Clip art is available under license to do what you want (and a lot of it is pretty cheap).
