What is the name of your state? Texas

My management has just put out a policy that would require us to pay for property that is damaged by us, even in the event of an accident. Is it legal to require an employee to reimburse the company for damaged property they have provided for us to do our jobs? I've NEVER worked for a company that did, so I'm quite curious.
