What is the name of your state? Colorado
My husband and I got a divorce in Sept of 2004. I requested all the credit card debt be given to me in the divorce. In November 2004 I filled bankruptcy. It was discharged March 2, 2005. Creditors are still bothering him. (their attorney that is) They garnished his bank act once already and recently sent him a letter requesting payment in full. What can I do to get him completely away from that mess?????

A: Pay off the credit cards. Those folks were not parties to your divorce and are not bound by the terms of your divorce decree.

Exactly. If his name was on the accounts, then HE is also liable and your divorce decree does NOT come into play.

If his bank account has been garnished, then there is a judgment against him. Was there a lawsuit filed against the TWO of you at some point ??

First you accused me of being a collection agent (I WISH I COULD COLLECT SOME DEBTS THAT ARE OWED TO ME!) and now you are agreeing with me!

You're getting smarter by the day! :D

(I couldn't resist...don't flame me.)
