My daughter is in an abusive relationship. They own a house together but are not married and they have a child together. We've been told that if she leaves the house with the child, he can come get the child from whoever is watching her. So while she files for custody, I have offered to stay in my daughters home. The idea is to protect her and also stay in the home until custody is established. Can he kick me out when she leaves for work? An order of protection doesn't seem to be an option right now because the father of the other kids will get involved and try to take them. There is a lot to what's going on, but I just want to know if he can have me removed from the house even though my daughter has requested I be there and stay.

I wish, very much, that your daughter would consult a local attorney about her legal problems and questions.

You two have a lot of ideas, and many are incorrect. You two also have an agenda with which I disagree, and I'm not going to help with that.

What I do know - Your "move in" plan is coqamamie and I really don't understand what you are trying to achieve.

If daughter is being abused she should go to the police and a woman's organization for help.

She should also get a lawyer.

Your daughter has children from another man (men)? She will not lose her rights to those children by pursuing an order of protection against her abuser?
