can my boyfriend of 1 year and a half adopt my child? I live in NYState...is this feasable?

It all depends. If their is a father's name on the birth certificate, he would have to sign over parental rights before an adoption could take place. If there is no name on the birth certificate (but you know who the father is) and you allow the adoption to go through, the biological father could contest it later. If this is what you really want to do, go for it, but don't forget to think about any possible consequences. If your boyfriend adopts your child and you break up, he would be able to fight for custody, as well as being oligated to pay support.
