oklahoma. I turned 17 on december 27 of 2004, i was kicked out of my house and now im staying with my cousin im taking ged classes when i pass the ged can i be counted as an adult so i can leave state to live with my boyfriend so i have a permanent place to live so i dont have to bounce around.

Although a GED is equivalent to a diploma, you still have to be 18 to be considered an adult and no longer the responsibility of your parents. The only way around this is if you were emancipated or guardianship was given to someone by your parents. But by the time all the paperwork is done to do either, you'd be 18 anyways. Hang in there.

Getting and keeping a full time job will help show that you are emancipated (which is a fancy legal term for "supporting yourself").

Good luck....
