What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ohio

I was kicked out of my house in the middle of the night. I am a high risk pregnancy and also have another infant. I recieved no notice or warning. I was just told that I can't come home. The landlord said I was evicted based on the people upstairs. Their excuse for not paying their rent was because of me. He never even spoke to me. We were there longer. Our rent was always paid. for awhile we had both apartments and the people upstairs didn't pay us that is why we gave it back to the landlord. The landlord said that it is like filing police report. If someone makes the charges the other person gets evicted.

Can I be evicted just like that? I went to the hospital for stress and that is where I recieved the call that I can't come back home.

Call legal aid and then the police and ask to be escorted back to your apt since you have been threatened...don't mention "an eviction."

Evictions don't happen over the phone...I wish they did!!

There is more to this story than OP is letting on...

Makes me wonder if this is tied to the LL who recently posted about trying to evict a pregnant tenant who hasn't been paying rent...

from the sounds of it, it was her boyfriend that kicked her out. not the landlord. from her two other threads. none of which she responded to to answer important questions.

Where's the Beef?

Definitely more here than OP is letting on.

In reading other posts, the LL is friends with OP's boyfriend, who also lives in the place. Boyfriend isn't getting evicted, OP is. There are ongoing issues with boyfriend, his family, and the people upstairs (also friends of the boyfriend).

So, I ask you... Why would you want to return to a home where the environment is less than hospitable to you with now 2 infants? No - you CANNOT be evicted without notice, but it sounds to me (as in your other post) that it's the boyfriend and not the LL who is saying you can't come home. The LL must evict you through legal process, whereas the boyfriend must prove that there is a legally valid issue that should keep you from returning home. "Because the people upstairs have a problem with you" really doesn't qualify as probable cause.

Sounds like you have bigger problems to deal with than just figuring out where you and your kids are going to stay from now on....
