i run an IT company dealing in legal and office technology equipment, and part of our work is to back up server set ups, digital archiving etc.
I read about a case in Europe where the defendant claimed he'd lost damning documents. the case took a whole new dimension when it was discovered that the man in the center of the case had earlier taken the precaution of having his docs digitally archived. is there a company-client confidential clause that would prevent the company from being compelled to produce the documents here in the US?
