I've gotten an email from a business owner claiming that he will be suing me for slander, defamation and interference of business, based on a compliant (see below) that I made to the American Lighting Associate. In AZ, and this guy is in CA; do I have anything to be worried about? FWIW, he claims his brother is a top lawyer.

"I recently made a purchase with one of your members and had the absolute worst experience of my life -- <company name> -- I called and confirmed the size of a set of fixtures with a sales associate prior to ordering, and the associate confirmed the dimensions on the web site. When I received the fixtures, they were the wrong size, and <company name> informed me that since I only asked the sales person, but didn't tell them to get a tape measure and measure the fixture, that this was my fault and I would need to pay a 20% restocking fee!! They have been dragging their feet at every turn to prevent me from returning the product. I've never seen a company as obviously out to cheat customers as is this one. Is this the kind of service that your members provide?"

Thanks!!!

Terry
