What is the name of your state? NY
We had a home builder not inspect some property we bought until after we closed on the lasnd. We had asked for 3 months to make sure it was buildable. The day before we started to clear the land he told us an extra $20,000 to run the sewer and he was also raising his price because it woulld take longer. Now it was an extra $30,000.
He refused to refund our $5,000 down payment unless we signed a liability release. He kept $1,200 for his "expenses", we protested but he wouldnt return any money unless we signed a waiver.
I bought all his domain names except his .com. Can I build web pages telling my side of the story as long as I dont lie? Is it still slander?

Telling the truth is not defamation. That, however, won't stop someone from suing you.

My response:

"Yes, I'll take an acre of land and 30 of your Internet Domain names, please." What? Gee, I hope you got fries with that!

What does one thing have to do with the other? What does it matter that you bought his domain names in regard to your land issue?

Besides, your "truth" and his "truth" might, in the end, be slander. It all depends on the actual facts and how the judge rules. Also, it depends upon whom has more money than the other.
