Can I be sued

What is the name of your state? South Carolina
I put someone in jail about 17 years ago for kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and 1st degree sexual assault. We have a parole hearing coming up. If this man gets out, do I have the right to give out his picture at my workplace so people can be on the lookout for him?
He will be a registered sex offender. Do I have the right to let neighbors know this? Exactly, what rights do I have to protect myself? I don't want to be sued by him, stating that I am impeeding his ability to get on with a life.

I live in the suburbs of a town at the base of the blue ridge mountains. I already know that he will live with one of his grown up daughters, they stated so at the parole hearing the last 3 times we went. She lives about 15 minutes away from me. My number is unlisted but lets be real, they can probably google me and get exact directions to my home.

Have you been allowed to speak at the parole hearings about your concerns if he is released and allowed to live near you?

No.
He is a sex offender. You have the absolute right to protect yourself. And you cal always be sued for anything in the country, but he wouldnt get anywhere in court.

update

The parole board voted against him again. We have another 2 years before he can try. By this time, he will have been in for 19 years. I know what some of the responses were about him threatening, etc. Please remember, this man's wife and mother have died while he has been in prison. His 3 children are grown. He has 19 years to fume about it and plan for some payback. I guess I won't worry for another 2 years. Thank you all for the advice.

What I"m curious about is if you'd have the right to give out his picture at your workplace. I don't think anyone addressed that aspect of it.

Listen, I stayed out of this because you got the relevant information in the very first post. But since you refuse to use your brain, here it is in third-grade English.

Of course you have the right to post his photo at work, on the subway, on the space shuttle or as a tattoo on your ass.

And yes, of course you can be sued for it.

Now, next question.

If he had been released, I had every intention of distributing his photo at the hospital. Granted, it would have come from the department of corrections web site and the photo is 3-4 years old.
I would rather take my chances in court. I was going to ask the parole board to make it a condition that he stay out of my ER where I work. Then again, I am not sure if he knows where I work and I was afraid I might tip him off. Such a catch 22!!!!!

I don't know anything about law but just an observation.

It just seems kind of strange to me to ask the parole board to tell him he's not allowed to go to a particular Emergency Room just because you work there. Don't get me wrong, I understand your concern over this but still. What if he needs ER service? Is he to be turned away simply because you work there? Then again, I guess if it's bad enough to warrant ER care he probably isn't there to harm you and you could probably manage to avoid him too.
I don't know anything about law, I'm just looking at this from some commoner perspective...

Well, there are several ER's within a few miles of eachother. I would hope that he would have been told to stay out of the one I work in unless he has a verifiable medical emergency. I could see him showing up with a hang nail asking for help.
I am not saying he should not get medical care, just not in my ER. Remember, this man got Life plus 30 years. This was not just a traffic ticket, this man was a violent predator that I put away for a long time. He has lost several family members while he has been locked up. I have never heard an apology for what he did, he only moans to the Parole Board about how he has had it hard in prison, his wife dying, the children need him, etc.
He should have been thinking about that before he entered hy home with a weapon. I was only looking to defend myself at this point. That was why I put the post, I did not want to break the law or end up in court.

Jesus H. Christ, what are you going to do? Sue the ambulance company if this guy gets run over by a taxi and is brought to your ER? Are you going to order the ER Doctor not to operate on him?

Lady, you are a piece of work. Yes, you may get some form of restraining order against him. But the minute he's brought in by a third-party for emergency medical treatment and it's refused, you AND the hospital face one hell of a lawsuit.
