I am currently living in college apartments and have a 1 year lease which ends July 31, 2006. My parents are purchasing a home within the next couple of months. I was told by one of our real estate people that upon the purchase of a home i can some how get out of my lease. Is this true?

Unless your landlord put expressly in the lease that when Mom and Dad buy a house that Redwinger can get out of lease. ( and why would they do that?)

Then No.

There are so many posts on this forum regarding this. Doesn't anyone do a search on the boards anymore. :(

Go back and slap your Real Estate Agent as there is NO clause or law in ANY state that allows you to terminate a lease upon the purchase of a house...

Do NOT just pack up an move out as your LL can and WILL take you to court to recover damages he sustained when you violated the terms of your lease...
