What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? NEW HAMPSHIRE

Approx 6 months ago our daughter (10yrs old) necessitated our taking her to the emergency room of the local hospital to remove the cotton of a Q-Tip she had wedged inside her ear. To no avail. The person whom attended her did nothing more than what we had done, was a lot rougher, and only made the situation worse.

The next day, we went to an ENT specialist who got it out in about 20mins. We did however receive a bill from the hospital, for emergency room services which has since gone to collections and doubled in amount.

Do I actually have grounds to contest this bill considering that they did nothing for us?

Thank you for all replies in advance.

Get a copy of the medical records from the ENT, and also obtain a copy of the ER records and bring it to the hospital Administrator. Short of accusing them of malpractice, there probably isn't much you can do.

Have you attempted to contact anyone at the hospital aside from their billing and collections departments? As a medical biller and collector by trade, I can tell you that they won't be able to resolve it for you. You'll need to contact the administration directly to try to resolve the issues.
