My ex-husband and I both reside in North Carolina. He will begin receiving social security payments in November. I am 57 and, thus, not eligible for SS until I am 62. Can I draw off my husband's SS until that time? Will I, at age 62, then be able to draw my full Social Security based upon my own earnings? Neither of us has remarried. Would he be able to claim part of my social security when I become eligible, if he remains unmarried, similar to as if we were still married? Or would each of us be entitled to our own social security payments based upon our individual earnings?
