I was raped when I was 14. Because of the emotional damage, I was unable to go to trial. The DA made a deal with the rapist, he plead guilty to statutory rape and recieved 7 years ajudicated probation.
I am 19 now and need to know if I can file a civil case against my rapist, how to go about it, and if there is any hope of reopening the criminal case. Any help you can give me would be great.

This happend in TX.

it depends on how long after you reach the age of majority (which differs state to state) the statute of limitations runs. Generally the stautue for claims does not take effect until you reach the age of majority. I would look into that law as soon as possible, since if the age of majority is 18, you may have lost any claim with a statute of limitations of one year.
you can consult with an attorney to find out your local law, or try www.law.cornell.edu
