I was involved in an auto accident 28 months ago and was injured. I then hired an attorney to represent me in a personal injury suit . He filed the suit and thats about it as far as I know. I've had very little contact from him in these 28 months and when I call him he's never in....Or just seems anoyed that I've called at all.
I'd like to know if I can fire him without having to pay two attorneys because I still want to persue the personal injury suit against the person at fault in the accident. I beleive that the current attorney did in fact file the appropriate answer in the Gwinnett County Georgia courts but I've not heard a thing from the lawyer since that time.
Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated

Thank You.

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Immediately fire your attorney. You have every right to fire your attorney and he must give your new attorney all files pertaining to your case.

Hurry up -- because he may have exhausted any procedural statute of limitations. Can you believe that? He may have filed in time, but if you don't know what is going on with the case, you don't know what has happened thus far.

Try attorneypages.com or call your state bar association and ask for lawyer referral.
