I reside in PA and am interested in obtaining my Real Estate License. Before I spend the time and money to do this, I would like to know if I have a chance to obtain a license with a criminal background. Here is a summary:
2006 - I was charged with "theft by deception" and "access to device fraud". It was a first time offense, the total amount of the charge was $500.
I received 3 years probation, paid off all of my fines, and have been emplyed in a good position since. I have held a good job in a management position, I have been a secratary/treasurer for organizations, and I have many business references who would vouch for my honesty and good business practices.
I was in a bad situation where I was falsly accused and based on the advice of my attorney at the time, my best option was to plead guilty and take these charges with probation.
Please tell me if I should pursue the Real Estate license - I want to know if I would even have a chance of getting it and what I would have to do to get it. Thanks
