What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ma

last fall I started a graduate program at a private university. The degree program I enrolled in is brand new. Me along with eight other students were the first to go through the program. It is set up in a non traditional way where we would meet one weekend a month from 7-9 on fri 8-6 on sat and 830-330 on Sundays. The class would meet over two weekend in the semester and have required readings and assignments due inbetween. We also had one intensive 4 credit class that met for 6 days straight from 9-5 for one week late summer. The program of study was set up so that for the second year of studys summer we had an option to study as a class abroad or to another city. I have now done two semesters 16 credits of work. In December we were informed there would no longer be a study abroad option or the option to study in another city due to the high travel costs. We were informed that we could either do an independent study or take a grad level class at another institution and transfer the credits. I was very upset as I had never travelled abroad and it seemed like a great opportunity. At our last meeting innearly May our teacher for the next semester informed us she was going to conduct the class online. I did not sign up to go to online school. I am wondering if I can get any tuition back as I do not want to continue my study as an online student. I feel decieved and I am wondering if there is anything I can do. The professor has offered to meet with me one on one but it is not the same learning experience as sitting in a classroom in a discussion. I would like tontransfer to the state university but I already paid a year of tuition. Is there anything I can do? Help!

Did you contact the state university to see if the credits you have already taken will transfer?

There is no chance you will be able to get tuition back. The tuition you paid is for the classes you already took, and since you did take them, you received what you paid for. If you are unhappy with the program, start looking to transfer to another University. Or, take the classes abroad and transfer the credit, as was suggested to you. How long is the program, and what specifically IS the program?
