hi everyone. i'm an f1 student in a community college. my classes won't start until fall so i'm planning a short visit to my home country for 10 days later this summer. since i changed status (from tourist) here in the u.s., i was told i need to apply again for f1 once i arrive home and get an f1 visa stamped on my passport. this will ensure my return back to the u.s.
as soon as i submit the requirements, my dso will issue a new i-20 and travel endorsement for me to bring home. i'm worried that if i'm staying only for 10 days, i may not even be able to secure an appointment with the u.s. embassy to apply for f1 visa. (scheduling takes about 1 month, if i remember right.)
is there a way for me to get the stamp before i fly home?
