What state?..Arizona

Hi, i am 16 and i live with just my mom. my parents have been divorced pretty much all my life. my mom is hardly ever home she makes me clean everything and do everything around the house. i am lucky to see my friends outside of school. she threatens to send me to live with my father whenever i do one small thing wrong. awhile ago she used to hit me, one of the times i almost went unconcious. it only stopped bc she got a boyfriend but now the boyfriend is gone she is getting more and more raged and just last year she almost strangled me she keeps getting closer and closer to hitting me again. i cant live with my dad because my stepmom hates me and my dad wont do anything about it. im trapped someone help me please.....

Nothing you describe would compel a judge to grant emancipation. If you are being physically abused, call the police or CPS. If you want to get emancipated, you will have to gain your parent's cooperation and demonstrate responsibility ... good grades, a job that can support you WITHOUT government aid or money from anyone else, etc.

However, after doing some checking, I have found that there appears to be no emancipation possible in AZ. So, you will have to wait til you are 18.

But, you can always check with an attorney or the local family court and see what they say.
