Hi I live in a abusive home and my parents always tell me I'm going to get kicked out at 16. I turn 16 in a couple months and I have a friend I plan to stay with but I don't want them to get in trouble for harboring. I was wondering if there was a possible way to get written consent to leave their house that way my friend would not get in trouble for having me there. Is there some sort of contract online that I can print off that we can both sign? Either way I'm going to have to stay with them on my 16th birthday because they will kick me out.

You're not kicked out until you're kicked out.

Many parents say such things as an idle threat.

However, have you considered meeting with your school's guidance counselor or social worker?

Even if they give you permission to move out, they can revoke that permission any time up to and including the day before your 18th birthday. And no, there is nothing they can put in writing that will be legally binding, if by that you mean something that prohibits them from changing their minds and saying that you no longer have permission.

Yes, you can leave home without your parent's consent. But it's advisable not to do so.
In the U.S., legally a 15 year old cannot leave home without parental consent. It might be different in your area of India, jyotisharma.

FreeAdvice focuses on U.S. law.
