I have been convicted of DUI in Indiana. Part of my sentence was probation plus a suspended license. However, when I wrote to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, they responded that my driving status is listed as VALID. There is apparently a mix-up between the court and BMV. Am I risking arrest by driving with my "valid" license?

My response:

The better question is: Do you like playing Russian Roulette? Call your BMV 2 times each week for the next month. Perhaps, and this is just a guess, that it may take a little while for paperwork to catch up to a computer database.

Your license is still valid, it is suspended,
I wouldn't drive if I were you. My license is still valid but it is suspended. I was arrested on Saturday in Michigan for driving while license suspended.
