What is the name of your state? WI

Scenario: I want to sue someone because i co-signed on thier auto loan, they faulted for 6 months, then started paying again, and i want to recover my money... Can i sue them for this amount? Is there any time period where i no longer can sue? I had no prior contract between us, just co-signed for this loan through the bank.

Also there was a insurance on the loan, where if they lose thier job, they are supposed cover the payments, well this didnt happen... who is at fault?

Thanks

Absolutely.

Yep. Usually two years from the time of the damages.

Who knows?? Ask the insurance company.
It sounds to me like the person who defaulted on the note is at fault, don't you agree??

OK, well thanks for the info... Yes, the person who faulted the loan is the cause, i guess i wanted to see if they were responsible more than the insurance company that didnt cover the amount or not... i will pursue them as well, just wanted to get my info straight. Is that 2 years just for WI, or in general for US small claims. Lets just say its been 4-5 years, does this exclude the possibility then?

thanks

Your question has already been answered.
Ummm, no the question hasn't been answered. While the SOL is usually two years in that type of case, each state is different. No one answered as to Michigan law.

Where does the poster say anything about Michigan?

Yeah, this would be for Wisconsin. Just wondering if anyone can confirm if its 2 years, or what it actually is.

Thanks for your time...
