Can I sue my parents for never sending me to school I am now 21 years old and my parents home schooled me to about the fourth grade I learned the basics after I turned 18 all on my own and got a GED but my little sister can not read good and can not spell at all she can not even get a job because they did not teach her anything at all so my question is can we sue our parents for not educating us?

In what U.S. state do you live, sarahl9, and is this the same state where your parents and sister reside?

The saying goes, you can sue anyone for anything.

The main question that comes to mind is, "Did the parents do anything?" Or did you just get up and watch tv? Or sleep all day.

If parents did do some type of teaching, than they tried. Just like the school system. They provide teachers to teach.

Neither the school nor the parents can guarantee 100 percent that you will absorb the material.
That is entirely up to you.

Yet in the "Middle Schooler" thread, you said that the school and teacher "failed the child" and mom should spend every day in class staring at the teacher making sure that the material was being taught to mom's satisfaction, and that mom demand that the teacher stay after school and tutor the child one on one. Ok, whatever.....
