What is the name of your state? Minnesota
My mother was very sick with cancer (she has since passed away), I was staying with her and her second husband (The Old Goat) taking care of my mom. I left for 2 hours on New Year's Eve to go to my home, take a shower and returned immediately. My aunt and uncle were with her at this time because the old goat was not capable of taking care of her. Anyway, I return to their house and find out he had altered her will... I confronted him about it in front of my aunt and uncle, they sat in on the conversation and I was very cordial and didn't even raise my voice or threaten him in any way. After mom's funeral he told several people that New Year's Eve that I returned after SEVERAL hours of drinking and I tried to take care of my mother drunk...and that I "got in his face" and threatened him. My aunt and uncle can attest to the fact of me being TOTALLY sober and very calm!
My question is - can I sue the old goat for slander? Worth talking to a lawyer about or is it a waste of time?
