can I walk out

Ohio State. Hubby says he doesn't want a divorce I REALLY DO. Two young kids. If I walk out and establish an apartment etc. is it possible that I can have joint custody?

He can provide the better home, atmosphere etc. but I don't want to loose my babies. Is this possible.
