What is the name of your state? Maryland

I was caught in the unfortunate scam where a group of immigration lawyers lied to immigrants that anyone out of status could file form i-687 until Dec.2005. My lawyer was in New york, so he suggested I mail the required documents and payments so he could file. It is not after filing that I became familiar with the form. It requires those immigrants that were here from Jan 1982 to sometime in 1986 could file. I also don't know how it was signed on my behalf before being submitted. I came here in the mid 90s and obviously do not qualify. I am dissapointed by my attorney but also i take responsibility for not questioning him but would like to know what my options are.

1. How can I withdraw this application?
2. What harm will it do for me if I file under a different category?
