Can my ex transfer custody orders??

Ok, my ex has had my daughter for 8 months in Alaska, but I just found out that there is a still a court order that gives me custody. Is there any way my ex could have "transferred" the custody case from Colorado to Alaska without me knowing about it, or would they have to notify me?

I do believe they would have to notify you, are you still residing at the last address the court has on file?

No, I live in a different place, but my mail is forwarded. Would they have to serve me with papers in person? My ex knows my new address...
