I agree with others that to walk out is a good option...

But you didn't post anything about finances and lease terms...and it would be nice not to get stuck paying for the roof over his head .

Absent marriage you have no duty to care for him ..suppose you 100% stop any care at all, literally down to food and cooking ....and you report his condition to any appropriate social services agency as to an adult in need of essential life care . My read is FL has lots of problems and solutions re adults who are unable to care for themselves .

Around me 24/7 adult n home care services get over $ 600 a day ...and if the client is " nasty " they do cut off nasty clients ...
